Current Skincare Routine

When it comes to skincare, I like to shake things up. As I said in my night routine, my skincare routine fluctuates depending on how my skin is acting. My skin is very oily when left to its own devices, resulting in persistent acne that only benzoyl peroxide prescribed by my dermatologist can cure.

I use a variety of different skincare treatments to maintain my healthy skin and keep the acne at bay. Keep reading to learn about my current skincare routine!

Rarely a day goes by that I don’t apply at least a layer of foundation and concealer. My usual full-coverage foundation is fantastic for those days I need to cover up an acne spot or two, but it can be too heavy on days when my skin is clear. Enter the Youth Activating BB Cream. This BB Cream is chemical-free with UVA sun protection, which makes it ideal for easy-going days and during outdoor activities. The cream also contains vitamins C, E, and B5 to help nourish my skin throughout the day.  I’m currently Shade 1 in the BB Cream. After I apply self-tanner, I’m Shade 2.

After a long day at work, taking blog photos, or hanging out with my fiancé, I’m tired and so is my skin! I remove my makeup with the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. Just one towelette removes every trace of makeup from my skin!

Then it’s time to cleanse my skin from the pores up. I break out my Clarisonic Mia 2 and the Deep Pore Daily Cleanser to open my pores and wash out any residual dirt that may be hiding in there. The Mia 2 is perfect for cleansing and even clearing away my clay masks.

Next, I apply the Youth Activating Serum over my entire face. The Activating Serum renews and rejuvenates my skin each night on a cellular level. It contains Apple Cell, Lotus Japonicus, and Encapsulated Vitamin A that makes my skin look nourished when I wake up in the morning.

By far my favorite step in my touring is to apply the Youth Radiance C + E. The brightening formula is packaged in shining gold capsules that contain just the right amount for one night’s use. The cream brightens and tightens the skin to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Even though I’m only 25, I’m starting to get fine lines directly under my eyes. (I blame the excessive amount of smiling I do on a daily basis for those!) So I focus the formula under my eyes to make the lines less noticeable.

And last, but certainly not least, my nighttime moisturizer is by Origins. The Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer not only smells heavenly, but it puts the finishing touch on my skin before my head hits the pillow. I only apply the tiniest amount, but it locks in the nutrients and vitamins I’ve worked into my skin throughout my routine.

I was gifted the Youth by Shaklee skincare products, but all opinions are my own.
