Can you believe fall 2016 is just around the corner?! While my heart aches for bonfires, hot cocoa, sweaters, and pumpkin spice everything, I’m clinging on to these last few months of summer in the south. July was a busy month for me, hence why I took this week off from blogging. I needed a rest! See my favorites in fashion, beauty, food, live theatre, and memories below!
Fashion
BLANKNYC Jacket
My go-to for everything lately has been an all black outfit. And what is an all black outfit without a black leather jacket? This jacket from BLANKNYC features an asymmetrical collar, slim fit, edgy zipper details, and buttery vegan leather. One of my best purchases of the summer. Find the jacket here and see the full outfit here!
Polka Dot Skirt
Where do I begin with this gorgeous skirt? I found it while walking Pennsylvania Avenue on our trip to Washington D.C. last April. The owner of Boutique on the Hill, Dorian, persuaded me to buy this retro throwback of a skirt. I’ve been in love ever since. I’ve worn this skirt several ways since I brought it home, but by far my favorite way to style it is with a bright top and matching bright shoes. The outfit is perfect for church, dinner, and brunch. Find a similar skirt here (Nordstrom sale!) and see the full outfit details here.
Beauty
Becca Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Face Palette
This sold-out (sorry!) blush and highlight palette has been a treasure for me ever since I ordered it. The packaging is tough and durable, and it’s perfect for travel. Prosecco Pop is the standout product from the palette. It’s warm, bright shimmer is the perfect topper for my finished makeup.
Play (Live Theatre)
A Midsummer Night’s Dream by the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre

If you know me at all, you know I am in love with all things Shakespeare. It doesn’t matter if it’s one of the Bard’s histories, tragedies, comedies, or sonnets. I’m in love with them all. The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre celebrated it’s 10 year anniversary in Conway, Arkansas this year. Their performance of Hamlet in 2014 was my first experience with the company and I was absolutely floored by how amazing they were. The actors travel to Arkansas from all over the country to put on adaptations of Shakespeare’s plays, usually in a different time period than the play is usually set. Colton somewhat willingly took me to see The Merchant of Venice in 2015, and Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream this July. Midsummer was an outdoor performance with a “bring your own blanket” policy. Colton and I opted for lawn chairs and brought our own after dinner snacks. I loved every minute of it. If you’re near central Arkansas in summer of 2017, trust me when I tell you that you need to go!
Food
Panera Bread Mac & Cheese in a Bread Bowl
Let me first say that if I had to choose one food to eat for the rest of my life, it would be a tie between bread and mac and cheese. So when I found out Panera Bread finally started serving their mouth-watering mac and cheese in their famous bread bowl, I nearly swooned. Throw calorie counting out the window for this amazing dish! (With a baguette as a side, of course.)
Memory
Hosting Good Morning Arkansas
Earlier this month, I had the amazing opportunity to host a segment on the KATV show Good Morning Arkansas. I reviewed a few of my favorite hair products that revive and nourish your hair during the extreme heat and humidity of summer. I was so nervous but the experience was fun. I’m so thankful to KATV for asking me to be a host! Watch the full segment here and see the products I reviewed, as well as the outfit I wore, here.
