Thank you to Milk Street Baby for partnering with me for this post! All opinions are my own.
Moving into a new house has been one of the most amazing and stressful things I’ve ever done. Colton and I have lived in our new house for about three months now and our laundry list of to-do’s, things to fix, and items to buy grows every day! One of the major things we’re in need of is furniture. So you can imagine my excitement when Milk Street Baby contacted me to review one of their furniture pieces!
Milk street Baby is a small, women-owned and operated baby furniture company. Now, I would like to put on record that children are not in my near future! But that doesn’t mean I can’t broaden my horizons by shopping for unique pieces at a baby furniture store.
I’ve gotten to know Milk Street Baby’s founder and owner, Julie Knisley, over the past couple of months and I can feel how special Milk Street is to her. Her creative flair shines through in each of Milk Street’s furniture collections: the sleek-lined True Collection, the rustic Relic Collection, and (my favorite!) the new classic Cameo Collection. Part of Julie’s mission is to educate and support each other to keep babies and children safe. And that definitely shows in her furniture.
Milk Street’s furniture is built by hand to last not just for your child’s infancy, but for generations. The Cameo nightstand is an exquisitely built piece of furniture. It’s heavy, sturdy, stable, and durable, all adjectives you want associated with your furniture!
The stand out feature of Milk Street’s furniture is how innovative and versatile everything is. For example, the cribs can be converted into toddler beds then adult beds as your children grow. The dressers, nightstands, bookcases, and books shelves can be used for any room in a house, not just a nursery. Even the changer trays can be used for organization in any part of your house!
As a new homeowner, versatility in furniture is a dream come true. So I challenged myself to find more than one way to use the Cameo nightstand for more than what it is: a nightstand.
There are a few unique features of the nightstand I want to share with y’all before we dive in to styling it in my house. Because honestly, I thought these features were just so cool! The drawers are spacious and deep, and feature soft close hardware to avoid wear and tear on the wood from constant opening and closing.
Small buttons on both sides of the nightstand control a light located underneath the nightstand. The light features three levels of brightness to help you find your way through the room in the dark. Simply tap the button on either side to turn on the soft yellow light.
The back of the nightstand has a built in electrical dock with two three-prong outlets and two USB ports. I’m seriously in love with this feature! It makes charging your phone and laptop, using a lamp, tv or iPod dock so convenient.
Now we get to the fun part! Actually styling the nightstand in my house. Here are three out of the ordinary ways I styled the Cameo 2 Drawer Nightstand by Milk Street Baby.
Paired With A Chair
One of the easiest ways to style a nightstand (besides next to a bed) is next to a chair or sofa. A lamp, a stack of fashion books, a knick-knack or two, and a mug of my favorite coffee easily fit atop the Cameo nightstand. The two large drawers of the nightstand can hold magazines, catalogs, tv remotes, napkins, or your family’s favorite games. It’s a simple piece that blends in with my living room decor (and this adorable accent chair!).
A sophisticated entryway isn’t complete without a table to toss your daily essentials. The Cameo nightstand has a top wide enough to hold a large tray with space to spare. The drawers can hold extra keys, small umbrellas, notepads and pens, spare change, or anything miscellaneous you may have in your hands when come home from a long day out and about.
And finally, I found that the Cameo nightstand is absolutely perfect for displaying and storing my jewelry. The nightstand seems to have been made for the awkward middle space in front of the window in my walk-in closet. I put my favorite, every day jewelry box on top of the nightstand and store the rest in the two drawers below for easy, out of sight access.
What do y’all think of using a nightstand in different ways? Which way is your favorite? Let me know in the comment section below!
