I had someone ask me a little while ago where I bought the ring I always wear on my right middle finger. Well, it was my late grandmother Dugan’s engagement ring. Last summer, I went rummaging through my mom’s numerous jewelry boxes and found the dainty diamond and gold ring. I asked her about it and she told me it’s origin. I never knew my Nana Dugan; she died years before I was born.  Since that day, the ring hasn’t left my finger.  I have other little things of hers like her gold cross necklace and her gold charm bracelet but finding this ring somehow brought me closer to the woman I wish I had known.
