Embroidered Booties

As we head into the limbo season between winter and spring, I wanted to jump outside of my fashion comfort zone with a pair of gorgeous blue embroidered booties. If you’re familiar with my style, you’ll know nude pumps are my go-to shoe. So wearing a shoe that packs a punch like these is quite a bit different for me! Scroll down to see how I styled these adorable booties!

These paisley embroidered booties have sat in the bottom of my closet since I purchased them in October 2017. I have to admit they were a stress-induced impulse buy. The beautiful fabric caught my eye as I strolled through Target and I thought to myself, “Why the hell not?” I bought them and they’ve been in the floor of my closet ever since, patiently waiting for me to create an outfit just for them.

If you’re looking for these particular booties, you’re unfortunately a little too late. Thanks to country music star Kelsea Ballerini sporting these exact booties during a performance, they’ve since been sold out. Find similar embroidered bootie styles at similar price points below:

The embroidered bootie is currently having its moment as one of the top trends of the season. They’re a statement piece that I’ve had a hard time wearing because they’re so far out of my comfort zone. I mad the mistake of impulse buying the booties when I had nothing in my closet that immediately matched them! Or so I thought.

To create an outfit for the booties, I used them as my color base. I had two options; I could either pair the booties with an item that would starkly contrast them in color (think a pop color like pink or orange), or I could find an item that matched the blue of the booties. For this outfit, I chose the latter.

The blue and white striped skirt is an older piece I pulled from the very back of my closet.  I love that the fabric is stiff so it keeps the flared bell shape around my legs.  I layered the skirt over my favorite white lace bodysuit.
You’ll notice that I included three different patterns in this outfit.  Yes, three.  At first, I wasn’t sure I about mixing a trio of patterns into one outfit.  In fact, I ordered a plain white bodysuit just for this outfit, but immediately returned it.  I just felt the plain bodysuit downgraded the overall effect of the outfit.  Looking back, I’m in love with the outfit. Expect to see it on repeat!
