Cold, Rainy Day Outfit

It’s raining cats and dogs here in Central Arkansas! When the forecast guarantees rain, my first instinct is to throw on an oversized sweater and distressed jeans. Or sweatpants. But sometimes (work, dates, shopping, running errands), I need aim higher than oversized and distressed, so I create outfits that are both stylish and functional. The base of my outfit is so simple: a blouse, jeans, and pumps. This popover blouse from Versona is one of my favorites of the moment. The lightweight material makes layering under a coat easy and comfortable. And it’s currently on sale for under $10! I tucked the hem of the top into my go-to pair of medium-dark wash skinny jeans. A pair of durable nude pumps that will survive a puddle or two helps elevate the outfit.

I’ve featured this J.Crew trench coat on the blog many times since I bought it in 2016 and it’s still proving to be one of the best clothing purchases I’ve ever made. It’s lightweight yet so warm! The color is a dark neutral so I can wear it with several different color combinations, making it versatile and well worth the purchase.
