I can’t believe my first New York Fashion Week has already come and gone.  The whirlwind trip to New York City came as a complete surprise when I received my first fashion show invite in my email inbox.  After 24 hours of complete indecision, I took the plunge and booked my flights and hotel for Fashion Week.

After the details were hashed out, the outfit planning began.  I knew my outfits had to be eye-catching, striking, spectacular.  I finally settled on feathers.  Lots of feathers.  See the outfit I wore on Saturday to the fashion events and shows below!

Feathers are a girl’s best friend.  Unless you’re climbing in and out of Ubers.  Nevertheless, I knew this feather-trimmed dress by Elizabeth and James was going to be my dream NYFW dress.

We flew into New York City the day after a large blizzard so the temps were crazy low.  The long bell sleeves helped shield me from the piercing wind (layered with a black pea coat, of course).  The layers of multi-colored feathers created a fun and fashionable statement silhouette.

The faux fur snood was my lifesaver on the trip.  I never left the hotel without it!  It’s one of the softest scarves I’ve owned.
