Sequin NYE Dress

Sequins, glitter, champagne, and midnight kisses.  New Year’s Eve is fast approaching!  It’s time to pull out our ultra glam dresses and blinged-out accessories to welcome 2017 in style.  I wore this ombre sequin dress last year, but it’s still a classic option to be considered.  See the outfit details below!

Dress: BB Dakota | Shoes: Christian Louboutin | Cape: Topshop (similar) | Earrings: Michael Kors

When I think NYE, sequin dresses spring to mind before anything else.  It’s one of the only nights of the year that you can get away with wearing head-to-toe sequins, leaving glitter wherever you walk.

This dress by BB Dakota drew me in because of the ombre sequin design.  The silver and black sequins blend together at the top and middle of the dress to create a dripping color effect that’s to die for.  The dress doesn’t feature any buttons or zippers, making it slightly difficult to don, but it’s definitely worth it once you do.  The fit is snug yet breathable, and the lining is soft to protect you from scratchy sequins throughout the night.

NYE is the night to go all out, so I threw on my painful Louboutin So Kate pumps just for the heck of it.  To top off the outfit, I wore a wool cape by Topshop.  Pro tip: if you want to add a bit of glamour to any outfit, just add a cape.  Trust me.  If a cape really isn’t your style, a pea coat will do the trick too.  This one is on sale for under $80!
