Colorblocking feat. Elizabeth & James

Colorblocking is an easy way to add dimension and interest to any outfit you wear.  Take this colorblocked Elizabeth and James dress, for example.  A few well-placed lines take this otherwise simple dress up to the next level!  See the gorgeous outfit below, as well as a few of my colorblock picks for fall!

I’ve admired the Elizabeth and James brand for quite a while.  Not only are the clothes breathtaking, but the brand’s designers, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson, are two of my idols.

This form-fitting dress creates a flattering silhouette by gracefully chopping the upper and lower halves of the dress in unequal portions.  Navy and white have always been a color combination made in fashion heaven so the dress works wonders all by itself.  I decided to shake things up a bit with a bright yellow Guess wallet I picked up from my grandmother’s unwanted clothes pile and silver drop earrings from one of my favorite bohemian jewelry brands, BohoBetty.  PS, if you like these earrings or any of BohoBetty’s other jewelry, use the code CHICLITTLEHONEY for 20% off your entire purchase!

Colorblocking is one of those trends that looks super intimidating, but is actually quite easy to master once you’ve got the hang of it.  For beginners (and the fashionably advanced), the easiest way to colorblock is to simply pick up items that already have the work done for you.  I’ve picked out a couple of dresses, sweaters, and even a cute scarf that will be perfect to bring the colorblocking trend into fall with you!  Enjoy, honeys.

  1. You look lovely!! The navy and white combo is a great alternative to black and white. MK & A are my idols too and I want everything from their clothing lines!

  2. I am totally loving this chic look. The way that the design curves around the waist adds such great shape to the dress and is so flattering! I’m also loving numbers one and three on your list! They’re both so cute!
