Around Town Outfit

Every fashion girl has a go-to outfit for running around town that is both comfortable and effortlessly stylish.  Distressed jeans are probably one of the easiest ways to add an air of informal relaxation to a look, and flats will let you walk ease and comfort throughout your busy day.  Take a look at one of my go-to around town looks and then stick around for the details below!

Unlike the designer of these flats, I do believe that comfort and style can go hand-in-hand.  I’m so tempted to just throw on a t-shirt, jogger pants, and sneakers (which you can now get away with due to the athleisure movement) when I have to run errands on the weekends.  But more recently, I’ve overcome my temptation to be lazy and given more effort into my on-the-go look.

Even just a simple fitted tee and jeans can make all the difference in your look and how you feel about yourself while running errands.  No more ducking in between the aisles in a grocery store to avoid your ex-boyfriend seeing you looking like a not-so-hot mess!  Find your favorite tee, layer with a scarf, necklace, or just a few stacked bracelets, and you’re done.

Now, let’s take a second to talk flats.  Due to my ridiculously small stature (I’m 5’2), I’ve always preferred at least three inch heels to flats because wearing heels lengthens my legs and, quite frankly, makes my entire figure look better.  But flats have been popping up everywhere lately, so I decided to give them another go.  I picked up these incredible Christian Louboutin cork flats and I am in freaking love with them.  I can’t believe I once thought that buying the So Kate pumps was a good idea.  I still have them, but I rarely wear them.  All that money for a pair of shoes I can only stand to wear for 30 minutes at a time because they are beyond painful is just ridiculous.

It’s an entirely different story with these flats.  They are so comfortable and lightweight.  When I put them on for the first time, I was in shock that Christian Louboutin, himself, could design a pair of women’s shoes that were actually comfortable to wear.

Tip: If you own a pair of Loubs, invest in the Save Your Sole red paint.  This touch-up repair paint matches the iconic red lacquer perfectly and actually lasts longer than the original lacquer on the shoes!  I’ve only had to paint these flats once so far since I bought them two months ago!
