Kim and Proper Gigi Dress

I have to say I’m absolutely smitten with today’s outfit!  Kim and Proper, a San Fransisco-based, women-owned business,  designs beautiful dresses for the chic, active, modern woman.  I think I fell in love with every dress on their site!  Each dress is a new twist on classic silhouettes.  After much debate, I chose the Gigi dress to showcase in today’s post.  Scroll down to see the Gigi dress and learn more about Kim and Proper!

Kim and Proper’s focus is designing classic, timeless dresses for the active, modern woman.  I chose the beautiful and stately Gigi dress from their collection because it looks like a something one of my fashion idols, Duchess Kate, would wear.  The Gigi is the perfect, quintessentially classic dress silhouette.  The simple v-neck, the midi hem, the cinched waist, and the long sleeves work together to create a dress that will stand the test of time.  The sleeves also feature a delicately tied black bow, adding a hint of adorable whimsy.

I can easily see the Gigi being one of my go-to holiday party dresses.  The material is luxuriously thick so it will keep me warm during the cooler fall and winter months.

I don’t normally wear dresses with hemlines that hit below my knees.  I’m petite (coming in at 5’2) so longer hemlines tend to make me look shorter.  To combat this, I paired the dress with a simple pair of nude sandals to elongate my legs.  (For a winter/holiday party look, I’m going to try to pair the Gigi dress with a pair of black Alexander McQueen heels.  So stay tuned!)
