NYFW SS18 Day 1 Outfit

New York Fashion Week street style is sometimes more anticipated than the actual shows. Photographers line the streets hoping to a capture the perfect candid shot of an Instagram starlet in an outfit so crazy, it’s cool.

NYFW street style isn’t about looking beautiful (although, that’s a plus). Much like the Met Gala, it’s about pushing the envelope of what is fashion.

When planning my outfits for this season’s shows, I chose two completely different looks. Day One would be classic and subtle, while Day Two would be out of the box and out of my comfort zone.

I met with a longtime Instagram friend while in the city. Megan of Evergreen Photography did a fantastic job capturing my looks for the weekend. She is the absolute sweetest, y’all! She made me feel so at ease while shooting on the busy city street. I loved working with her!

Scroll down to see the details of Day One’s outfit, then check back later this week for my look for Day Two!

Top: Chanel (similar) | Pants: Versona (similar)| Shoes: Gianni Bini | Bag: Henri Bendel | Belt: Amazon

I tried to take a budget friendly approach to NYFW street style this season. I used as many pieces as I could that I already owned before filling in the gaps of my vision by shopping. Wide-leg statement pants are one of the biggest things this fall. I picked up these linen pants from Versona when I shopped their Spring Lookbook (see here).

I wanted a simple top to pair with the pants, but I wanted to make sure it was short enough to not interfere with the pants’ higher waist. Enter this classic Chanel silk top. After looking through countless designer crop tops, I chose this Chanel piece for its simplicity and versatility.  It can be worn with jeans, dress pants, skirts, or shorts. It’s also my first piece of Chanel clothing so I was more than a little excited to wear it!

And finally, the finishing touch. The rhinestone belt peaking out from under the tucked in top elevates the outfit from working woman office wear to chic fashion week ensemble. Can you believe this belt is only $16 on Amazon? Scoop it up now.

Check back later this week for my second outfit from NYFW, photographed by the lovely Megan of Evergreen Photography!
