In today’s outfit post, we’re breaking one of fashion’s age-old rules: never mix brown and black in the same outfit. Let’s just say I’m feeling rebellious today. I’m continuing my collaboration series with Tobi by styling this cute black dress. See how I styled the dress below!
Dress: Tobi – sold out (similar here) | Boots: DSW | Bag: Vera Bradley | Necklace: Kendra Scott
The adorable Dreamer Long Sleeve Dress by Tobi comes in black (as seen on me), a muted olive, and white. The fit is very loose and oversized, making it the perfect dress for Thanksgiving! I’m just kidding. Kind of.
Update Feb. 2019: Unfortunately, the Dreamer dress at Tobi has since sold out. But I got you! This dress from Amazon is adorable. The quality and fit are almost exact.
The dress is lightweight and versatile for easy layering. I can layer a jacket on top or leggings underneath without feeling too bulky. I couldn’t help but think the dress feels very Free People-esque. Without the major price tag! Tobi’s Dreamer dress is $78 but is currently on sale for $39. Score! I’m so in love with this dress that I think it may stay in my closet through spring into summer.
I defied the old-fashioned rules by pairing a black dress with brown suede knee-high boots and a brown Vera Bradley handbag. Can we take a second to appreciate Vera Bradley’s line of leather goods? I loved this bag so much I bought the brown for me and the black version for my mom. The quilted leather is buttery soft and the shade of brown matches my boots perfectly.
This post is sponsored by Tobi, but all opinions are my own.
I love how you styled this look. Mixing black and brown is one of my favorite things to do.
