We are once again returning to the iconic fashion of Gossip Girl to highlight two tees from Friday + Saturday. Are you a Blair? Or are you a Serena? Whichever Upper East Side socialite is your spirit animal, these tees are definitely for you. See my Blair-esque outfit in this post then check back on Friday for the Serena tee! XOXO
Top: Friday + Saturday from RiffRaff Boutique | Bottom: Lilly Pulitzer | Shoes: Guess (similar) | Belt: Lilly Pulitzer (similar) | Bag: Kate Spade | Headband: Windsor (similar) | Watch: Daniel Wellington
I will be the first to recoginize that no, Blair Waldorf would never be seen in a t-shirt. Unless she’s hiding from her husband prince turned nightmare (see season 5, “The Backup Dan”). But since the rest of us can’t dress in head-to-toe couture in our every day lives, sporting a tee that declares our spirit animal affiliation with Queen B will have to do. I discovered this tee at RiffRaff Boutique in Fayetteville when I went in the Spring. It’s been my go-to for errand running and lounging around the house watching (what else) Gossip Girl.
Although Blair isn’t my style icon from the show (guess who is? Hint: see this Friday’s upcoming post!), I tried to mimic her style as closely as possible with items from my own closet. Blair’s style leans more toward the preppy side than anything else. I paired the tee with a white Lilly Pulitzer pant and a bright pink thin belt that matches the lettering on the tee almost perfectly. Blair’s accessories are typically minimal, especially in the latter part of the series. When she does wear jewelry, it’s something that holds sentimental meaning to her, like her Tiffany key necklace or her gold heart pin (when Nate isn’t wearing it). In keeping with her simplicity, I donned my grandmother’s gold charm bracelet, her diamond engagement ring, and a Daniel Wellington watch, a Christmas gift from my boyfriend.
It wouldn’t be an outfit homage to Blair without a headband, would it? I picked up this gold leaf headband the last time I was in Dallas and I’ve been in love ever since. I’m not usually one for headbands, but I make an exception for this one. Does it not remind you of the headband she paired with the Elie Saab gown for her wedding with Chuck? J’adore.
