On October 31, 2014, I met a handsome, charismatic man at a Halloween bonfire party. He was funny, personable, interesting, and so damn cute. One year later, I’m head over high heels in love with that man, a rough-around-the-edges, big-hearted country boy named Colton. To celebrate Halloween together, we went on a date to a local pumpkin patch at Motley’s Farm to pick out our pumpkins and carve them at home. Follow our day below!
We arrived at Motley’s Pumpkin patch and immediately picked out two baby pumpkins. I think I literally squealed at how cute they were!
Then, we made friends with the local animals. The roosters were so loud!
And, of course, there were pig races. I mean, why not?
We finally made our way to the pumpkin patch of the farm. Since it was already Halloween, the selection was a little narrow, but we were able to find our prime pumpkins! They were huge!
After exploring the rest of the farm and buying some fudge and caramel apples, we headed back to the homestead and began carving. I made Colton my famous hazelnut hot cocoa topped with whipped cream to keep us warm while we were outside carving.
I chose a simple cat design for my pumpkin while Colton intricately carved the logo of Southern Twang Calls (his duck call business) on his. Btw, if you have a duck hunter in your life, check out Southern Twang Calls for a unique, handmade Christmas gift! (Sorry, shameless plugging for the boyfriend.)
